Why we love this retreat

Because Puglia, located in the heel of Italy's boot; is rich in culture, history, breathtaking views, crystal blue seas, fascinating towns & villages and home of traditional Apulian cone-roofed huts known as Trulli or a Trullo, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Plus, this is more than a traditional yoga retreat. This is a week of indulgence, exploring, eating, relaxing, laughing, bathing in crystal clear waters, explorations with day trips and so much more.

Because Tory is a one of a kind yoga teacher and retreat leader...and it shows. Her retreat include a 1-1 yoga session AND a 60 min massage.

"Let go and let me take care of you for the week." - Tory Lane

Description

One of the things I love most about Italian people is their passion. Passion for life, self, culture and heritage. Undeniable passion for food, family and friends. I can’t help but feel this passion when I’m around them.

At Lane Change Retreats…Italian Style, I want you to find and feel this passion within yourself. With our to ‘do-lists’, other peoples opinions and all the demands of daily life, we lose the passion even do the things we say we love.

This is not a yoga specific retreat. The objective is to take you to a place where you can let go of all the do’s & don’ts, should’s & shouldn’ts of your day-to-day life, surrounding yourself with energy from a culture that unapologetically lives with love, pride, flirtation, laughter and passion, while still enjoying a nourishing yoga practice.

There will always be plenty of space too for you to retreat and reflect and find a deeper connection with self because nothing is mandatory…everything is for you.

Let’s celebrate together and find our passion whether that’s within or around or both!

Breathe in the sweet fresh air each morning while flowing through an invigorating yoga practice overlooking a luscious green garden and beautiful olive trees.

Enjoy delicious & healthy breakfasts.

Day trip to unique and historical Puglian towns and indulge in traditional local cuisine.

Relax by the pool admiring your charming surroundings.

Enjoy a 60 minute massage

Take your yoga practice to another level with a 45 minute one-on-one yoga session. As the sun sets, bathe in restorative, rejuvenating yoga sessions before indulging in delicious Italian dinners

Optional excursions available, including a trip to the town of Polignano a Mare to dine at Grotta Palazzese (a ristorante in a cave).

We will spend a day strolling the streets of the remarkable town of Alberobello, famous for its unusual and adorable trulli buildings. There we will enjoy a yummy Italian lunch as time drifts by.

An afternoon will be spent discovering our local town of Ostuni and feasting on a traditional Puglian dinner.

Our last night together will be an indulgent social occasion at our villa with live entertainment and the opportunity to dance and laugh the night away.

Our trullo villa has been selected specifically. It has limited capacity so that you can spread your wings, relax, unwind and feel quite special.

As a teacher, being able to share my knowledge, experiences & spirit with others is a gift that I am always grateful for. I want my clients to feel supported and free to explore their body, mind and spirit in a space free from judgement and stress. I teach from my heart and always come wearing a smile and a burst of positive energy.

My first yoga class was not a graceful experience. I felt lost, uncoordinated and self-conscious. "It’s definitely not for me", I remember thinking. It took another two or so years before I returned and never would I have expected I'd be here today writing my yoga teacher bio!

While yoga started as a physical activity for me, it wasn’t long before the holistic benefits of this ancient practice started to seep into every aspect of my life. Yoga challenges and balances me – physically, mentally and emotionally. With a penchant for many of life’s pleasures and the ability to burn the candle at both ends, yoga is my trusty equilibrium. Yoga encourages me to embrace and honour my physical & energetic body, as well as the mental and emotional clutter of my life. I’m learning (always learning) to let go and just be.

Teaching was a natural progression. While I love the flow and dance of a Vinyasa practice I understand too well how this can cause more harm than good when you're not connected. It’s this understanding that lead me to Yogalates, where Yoga & Pilates meet.

Reviews

Thank you...

"I’m grateful that Tory popped onto my radar in 2015.
She’s been a delight to work with in terms of reliability, professionalism and keen to help with covers. Though it’s the client feedback and connection with her students, that is so lovely. She brings a certain warmth to a new group that people really respond to.
Tory also brings an impressive teaching and knowledge skill set to the mat, which shows up in her class numbers and popularity.
I have no hesitation in recommending her. "

"As a teacher myself, i am fairly picky about whose classes i go to, i want to feel like I am learning something new and being challenged. I will always make a point to go to Torys classes. You can feel how passionate she is about teaching, and her amount of knowledge makes you feel safe and supported.
She is one of those teachers with the rare gift of being able to blend the physical asana practice with the more spiritual side of yoga. Everytime i would go to her class, I would feel completely connected to my breath, and physical body. I would always leave feeling utterly at peace. I can't wait to keep practicing with her, and keep growing as a student and teacher."

  • "I have had the great pleasure of attending many of Tory's classes, over the last year.
After a long absence from yoga, Tory helped my transition back in very smoothly and with great ease and confidence.
In the past, I had various other good instructors, but none have honestly left a lasting presence as has Tory. Her knowledge, passion and love of yoga is very present and radiates through to all in her classes. I always left her classes feeling, at peace and very much connected within my inner awareness to my body.
Tory really is an outstanding teacher and guide, helping all to explore the gift that we were all given through breath and yoga."
